Celtic Frost

Celtic Frost will release their Super Deluxe Box-Set Danse Macabre in the United States on November 25th via Nuclear Blast.

Hailing from Switzerland in the 80s, Celtic Frost was one of that era’s most important extreme and experimental metal bands. They were a band ahead of their time and a testament to all who followed in their footsteps. Danse Macabre has captured the radical ambition and evolution of a young Celtic Frost from 1984 through 1987.

Included in this box set are three albums [Morbid Tales, To Mega Therion, and Into the Pandemonium], three EPs [Emperor’s Return, Tragic Serenades, and I Won’t Dance], Grave Hill Bunker Rehearsals cassette tape, a poster, 40-page book of brand new interviews with founding member Tom G. Warrior and drummer Reed St. Mark, an enamel badge and patch! It is available in album and CD formats which can be ordered here: celticfrost.lnk.to/dansemacabrePR

I had the pleasure of speaking with founding member, guitarist, and vocalist Tom G. Warrior for an in-depth discussion about the box set, how calling it Danse Macabre embodies the band in totality, why Celtic Frost never totally broke in the US, how this release helped him reflect on the good and hard times of being a young band, what the 20-year-old version of himself would make of this release, and if they will ever release a remastered Cold Lake.
