Grimmett burst on the scene as vocalist with the legendary NWOBHM band GRIM REAPER. His soaring vocals and incredible range helped influence future generations of metal vocalists. Along with guitarist/founder Nick Bowcott, GRIM REAPER released three incredible and highly influential albums before the band split up in 1989.

Grimmett went on to front thrash band ONSLAUGHT and was featured on their 1989 album In Search of Sanity. In 2006, after legal issues prevented him from resurrecting GRIM REAPER, he did the next best thing and created STEVE GRIMMETT’S GRIM REAPER, releasing two albums, 2016’s Walking in the Shadows and 2019’s At The Gates.

On January 17, 2017 doctors in Ecuador removed Steve’s right leg below the knee due to an aggressive infection. He remained in hospital for several weeks before being discharged. He has since toured extensively throughout the world. Earlier this year he was talking of another tour.
