Jens Johansson is a Swedish keyboardist, pianist, and composer. He is best known for his work with Yngwie Malmsteen, Dio, and the Finnish power metal band Stratovarius, which he joined in 1995. Officially Johansson is currently also a member of Ritchie Blackmore’s Rainbow. Stratovarius will release their sixteenth studio album titled SURVIVE next September. The band performed at this year’s Tuska festival in Helsinki. Then we had the pleasure to sit down with Jens and discuss the band’s upcoming album, his past with Stratovarius, the state of Rainbow, and something about his former boss Yngwie Malmsteen as well.
