This summer, Anthrax, and Black Label Society will be on a co-headlining tour of North AmericaThis summer, Anthrax, and Black Label Society will be on a co-headlining tour of North America, hitting 24 cities with Hatebreed as a special guest. The five-week trek starts on Tuesday, July 26th, in Arizona and wraps up in Philadelphia on August 28th, which happens to be John “JD” DeServio’s birthday! Black Label Society and Anthrax have shared festival stages and one-off shows numerous times, but this is the very first time they will tour together.

Black Label Society has been touring non-stop post-pandemic or whatever we are calling it now in support of their critically acclimated Doom Crew Inc., which was released in November 2021. This will be Anthrax’s first tour since the pandemic to support the band’s 40th anniversary. To commemorate their anniversary, the band will be releasing their live streaming event from last year on July 15, 2022. It will be available in many formats later this year, and pre-orders are available here: orcd.co/anthraxxl

Frank Bello of Anthrax and John “JD” DeServio of Black Label Society are two of the best metal bassist of our generation. Their critical role in their respective bands is to be the ambassador between the rhythmic drumming and melodic guitar. It’s the backbone of any band, and without it, it would leave them sounding thin and lifeless. They provide the fans with the simultaneous kick in the ass and the punch in the chest that each song needs to musically take you over the edge. Two superstar bassists who know how to do it perfectly while delivering the songs with power and vigor while entertaining their audiences. Two men who bring the thunder to their live shows!

I had the pleasure of speaking with Frank and JD about their upcoming tour, their friendship, the friendship between all the bands, the crazy antics expected to go down, and Frank gives us insight into his long-awaited solo EP due out this November. Check out the hilarity of these two friends busting each other and me!
