After releasing a single in 2020, Planeswalker has finally released their debut album titled TALES OF MAGIC. This is the project of Jason Ashcraft, known in recent years for being the founding guitarist of Helion Prime. With him is added the voice of the Cypriot Sozos Michael, in a work completely based on the imaginary of Magic – The Gathering, one of the most famous card games in the world and that really moves masses worldwide.

TALES OF MAGIC could not have come at a better time, as it benefits from the announcement of Sozos Michael as the new vocalist of Gloryhammer, a fact that will undoubtedly give more spotlight to this incredible album as it is one of those truly profitable purely power metal bands in recent years, with worldwide reach and popularity, able to play at international festivals.

With this album, Jason Ashcraft proves to be one of the most important figures of the genre in all of North America, as confirmed by the last six years in which Helion Prime has become a benchmark band in the country, and this new project only confirms the enormous talent he has for creating new power metal universes capable of engaging with a wide audience.

In addition to that, he has also shown to have the intelligence not only to make high-quality music, but also to make it known in the right way without it being stored in some corner of the underground scene.

Jason has proven to be a composer who spares no time to break barriers, that is, he likes to look for new themes to create power metal songs; however, on this occasion he delivers a huge accumulated explosion of stereotypes typical of the genre, without this being a bad thing, quite the opposite, since the positive response from the public has been almost unanimous.

Planeswalker is one more example that the power metal scene is still more than alive and that it is not necessary to continue squeezing outdated bands incapable of playing like in their glory years. Composers like Jason Ashcraft are the present and the future of the genre.
