Meat Loaf dead: ‘Bat Out of Hell’ singer dies aged 74 with wife by his side

Grammy award-winning singer Meat Loaf, real name Michael Lee Aday, died on Thursday night. The news was confirmed in a statement on Friday by his longtime agent Micheal Greene.

In an official statement on Facebook, it was confirmed the singer and actor had died with his wife Deborah by his side. Michael also shared how his daughters Pearl and Amanda were able to spend time with their father before his death.

In a statement, his family said: “Our hearts are broken to announce that the incomparable Meat Loaf passed away tonight with his wife Deborah by his side. “We know how much he meant to so many of you and we truly appreciate all of the love and support as we move through this time of grief in losing such an inspiring artist and beautiful man.

“From his heart to your souls…don’t ever stop rocking!”
