Mockcharge is a band from New York City. It is a trio formed by lead singer and multi- instrumentalist Ed Marson, Tatiana Turin as bass player and Donnie Hogue on drums.
An important aspect of this group is that its members have a deep background in the music scene. For example, the founding leader worked for many years as a technician and engineer for various international musicians; and the bassist makes pedals for guitar and bass. This background is fully used in the music of Mockcharge with very particular effects on their instruments. This gives the band a very unique identity.
During the second half of 2019 the group managed to give several concerts in New York, which gave Mockcharge a very interesting boost in the underground scene of the region. It was in December of last year that Mockcharge got into the studio to record their debut album, which would see the light of day in early 2020. Everything seemed to be going from strength to strength until the pandemic got in the way.
They already had some festival concerts scheduled, but they had to cancel them. So that the confinement would not bury everything they had achieved in just half a year, Mockcharge decided to release each of the 12 songs from their album as a single. So far they have released three singles: “Marauder”, “Nosferatu” and “Destroy”. The three pieces mark a clear line of the style that Mockcharge seeks to offer in its music: distorted riffs and a groove of low tones that are sure to hypnotize live.
His plan so far has worked, because despite not being able to give live concerts, Mockcharge continues to gain audience and presence on the scene. The band already has plans to tour Europe and South America, which is saying enough for a young and newly created ensemble. We are not surprised that in a few years Mockcharge is already rubbing shoulders with the big names on the international scene.
