Denver, Colorado death/grind/thrash metal quartet Angelic Desolation bring their latest EP in the shape of Quorum of Unspeakable Curses, due for release September 25th. It follows their 2018 debut album Rumpus Time Is Over.

The band states:

Angelic Desolation is ready to take the world by storm…. or slit throats in the name of Satan, whichever opportunity comes first. The band’s combination of grind, thrash, and death metal, paired with outrageous horror-themed stage antics, makes for a musical presentation that audiences won’t soon forget.”

The band waste no time getting things rolling with ‘Cyborg Vampire,’ with Young and Thunder in the rhythm section on top form. Medina’s gutturals hit like a fusillade of ammunition less than ten seconds in, proving to be just as assaulting as the instrumentation.

‘Necropotamus’, a creature depicted on the album art, also features some fantastic vocals. The delivery becomes truly frenetic as the song progresses, especially during the choruses. Definitely a highlight on Quorum of Unspeakable Curses.

Wrapping up the EP with a cover version of Decapitated‘s ‘Names,’ showing their appreciation for the tech death giants. Angelic Desolation manages to make the track their own without butchering the original, and Markle does a good job recreating the solo.

A fun three tracks that live up to the band’s self-dubbed “American razorgrind” sound. For fans of Aborted, Cattle Decapitation, and Cryptopsy.
