“Three weathered war horses bangin’ out intense thrash metal with a heavy punk influence. Based in Toledo, Ohio, MOBILE DEATHCAMP has been sawing clubs in half and leaving crowds with their collective jaws on the floor since the band’s inception in 2008. Featuring Todd Evans, formerly GWAR, MOBILE DEATHCAMP are out there hitting it hard, and have played a ton of shows with dope bands across North America.”
VOL 4-ISH sees these Midwesterners dishing out a bombastic new EP that clocks in right around 10 minutes. Their brand of thrash is true to the genre of old as they not only play the thrash metal that most metal heads know and understand these days, but they incorporate thrash’s origins of punk.
Each track only averages about 2 minutes, but they are 2 minutes of some of the best thrashing sounds known to man. I saw these guys locally years ago, but I must have been preoccupied as this is one of the styles of thrash that I dig the most. One that makes you want to jump right into a mosh pit headfirst whether you are at a show or in line at the gas station. (WARNING: DO NOT HAVE ON HEADPHONES AT THE GAS STATION!)
VOL 4-ISH is chalked full gritty heaviness that is very well laid out on this disc. This is one of those that not only allows you the sensibility to listen to again and again in a row, but it also makes you want to. Back, back, back, ahh, and here we go again.
Get it!
