The mighty Death Angel is back! I want to say it has been too long, but that is just because I tend to have difficulties getting too into a release before another on is out. A little problem some reviewers may have with everything that we tend to listen too in the course of the year and next thing you know that year has flown by.

Anyway, we all know the Death Angel story. If for some reason you do not, take a moment to read up on them. I go way back with the band so there has always been a little prejudice present with anything Cavestany or Osegueda does. Yet as I make that statement, it is almost unnecessary as the music Death Angel put out in the past and the present is simply kick-ass! Come on, admit it. You know I’m right.

HUMANICIDE is no exception to that rule. It is powerful, aggressive and once again, a very well written album. DA has always been one of those bands that were never a one dimensional sounding band. While they will always be dubbed a Bay Area thrash band, the beauty of their music is that they blend other elements of metal and melodicism into the fold. They are one of the very few bands that have a distinct sound and style all their own.

No track-by-track breakdown here but I can say that Death Angel has done it again. This is a catchy as hell album from start to finish. HUMANICIDE is destined to be yet another classic by one of the greatest bands on the planet. (That is not the prejudice talking.)
