Bella Novela has just unleashed their latest album, INCINERATE and it is a duesy. Bella Novela is a three-piece from Long Beach, CA and has a familiar yet original style that baffles me that they are not exploding on the hard rock radio scene as we speak.
INCINERATE is the bands 4th independent release and like I said, it should be climbing the charts. Their style is a caustic blend of rock, hard rock, metal, and pop that gets under your skin and does not go away. A style that is hard to place in any one genre, especially in the metal genre. It is safe to just say hard rock as that should not offend too many readers or listeners out there.
The songs from start to finish here are well fashioned and performed with precision. “Catchy as hell” would be another way to say it as well. With my first listen, the thought of No Doubt entered my mind. From the earlier stuff that was a bit edgier. Yet as the album continues on you can hear the many influences from the likes of Heart, Iron Maiden, Thin Lizzy, and some Volbeat. Now, maybe they are not that close to Volbeat, as there are a couple of doo-wop rock sounding moments that are in that vein of Volbeat sound.
This album to me is an overall success. Anyone who listens to any genre of rock or metal cannot deny the power and contagiousness that this band is playing here. I think I just ststed in another review that the album was the best hard rock album I’ve heard in a long time. Correction, INCINERATE is!
This three-piece has been creating its share of local buzz in SoCal. Now is the time for the rest of the world to catch on!
