The annual week when the entire downtown area of Malmo turns to a festival for a week. This took place at the beginning of August but already in April the festival announced the first bands that was going to perform and the first name out was the well known Swedish DJ Steve Angello that was a part of the hugely success full trio Swedish House Mafia. The festival includes stages for all kinds of music like swing, jazz, rock and blues as well as performances by theater groups and movies. The festival also hosts a stage for kids and teenagers where up and coming artists have show cases and it’s possible to try on a variety of activities. The festival hosts performances from all kinds of artists, bands from the heavier side of the music world that have performed at the festival throughout the years are Testament, Hammerfall, Backyard Babies, Entombed, The Hellacopters, Dropkick Murphys, The Haunted, Danko Jones and The Hives to mention a few.

This year the schedule at Rock Stage and the bigger stages left more to wish for when it came to harder acts. It was the fourth year the Rock Stage hosted the venue for both local as well as a few out of town acts and this week some of the bands that performed there were The Parity Complex, Captain Black Beard, Metalite, Bomber, Vajra, Finnegan’s Hell, Supercharger and Steve N Seagulls. Four acts was scheduled to perform at the Friday and Saturday and three at the weekdays, at weekdays the stage hosted an AW with a DJ playing music and that started already at 2.
