“Ground-zero, catalog number “Cruz01” and the album that started it all for Cruz Del Sur Music, PHARAOH’s 2003 “After The Fire” debut provided an early glimpse of the label’s unflinching commitment to releasing high-quality, true heavy metal. The album also positioned PHARAOH as one of the most promising and classy melodic metal bands in recent memory, earning the band much-deserved praise both on domestic and international shores. Now, 15 years after the fact, Cruz Del Sur is releasing “After The Fire” on vinyl on Aug 24.”

There you have a little history of this new reissue by Cruz Del Sur. Pharaoh is an American power metal band that doesn’t seem to have garnered up more of a name for themselves here in the states. Their brand of melodic yet powerful metal is in a class of its own and has since this first release held its own amongst the greats in the genre. American or not.

The band is currently working on their latest album to be released soon. AFTER THE FIRE was the only of 4 releases by Pharaoh not actually released on vinyl. It only seemed fitting to do it now as the want for vinyl releases has reached a new high with music fans today.
When forming back in the day, the style Pharaoh was basing their sound on was an Iron Maiden / Saxon mix with the likes of Rage / Angra in the blend. I’d say they have achieved this and much more. Fans of Control Denied, Jag Panzer, Crescent Shield, Persuader, Iced Earth, Helstar and many more should not only enjoy these guys but should already own an album or two by them.
