Mike Tramp – Museum

I enjoyed Mike Tramp’s last album COBBLESTONE STREET immensely so I was quite psyched when MUSEUM came out so quickly after. After listening to this album countless times over the past several months I think it’s long past due that I get a review written.

MUSEUM is very similar to COBBLESTONE as it is very organic and simple. It’s is a straight ahead Rock record from the former White Lion vocalist. There is a little more instrumentation on here than on the last but it still maintains that Singer/Songwriter aspect to it. Tramp’s voice sounds wonderful especially on tracks like “Mother” where the emotion and feel for the lyrics really come through. The music is really crisp and clean sounding. At times the acoustic guitar is at the forefront of the recording and compliments Tramp’s vocals nicely. Mike’s voice on MUSEUM is very similar to the old days, especially the older songs like “Wait”. If anything it’s gotten better over time.

Yes the Hard Rock days of White Lion are long gone but he is putting out the best music of his career with these past two albums. I look forward to the next one.
