BUCKCHERRY / HARDCORE SUPERSTAR
@ Koko London UK

Kicking off a Friday night with a concert of Buckcherry is a promise for a rock&roll evening and night.
The sold out London venue Koko welcomes Hardcore Superstar as a support, but little did I realise Friday night gigs here start way too early. I am still at work when the Swedish HardRockers get onstage. Doh! Sadly I am unable to take photos as I arrive late, but by judging the reaction of the crowd and its sweaty members, Hardcore Superstar totally nailed it.
Buckcherry is an American rock band from Anaheim, California formed in 1995.
The band released two albums, Buckcherry (1999) and Time Bomb (2001), before dissolving in the summer of 2002. In 2005, lead vocalist Josh Todd and lead guitarist Keith Nelson reformed Buckcherry and released a new album on April 16, 2006, 15. It contained Buckcherry’s biggest crossover hits to date, “Crazy Bitch”, and their first Billboard Hot 100 top ten hit, “Sorry”. Their fourth album, “Black Butterfly”, was released in September 2008, and their fifth album, “All Night Long”, was released on August 3, 2010.
Buckcherry released their sixth album, “Confessions”, on February 19, 2013
Taking to the stage with “Lit Up”, frontman Josh Todd shows that he is in great shape, his energy will remain high during the whole set, giving the audience more than what they pay for the money. They rocked hard! Rendering amazing performances of their oldies and newer songs, the whole band is musically clean and very tight. Stevie D and Keith on guitars were immaculate, new-boy Jimmy gave a really good dynamic to the group and Xavier was pumping out the beats.
A Buckcherry gig can’t be complete without Josh stripping off his shirt, revealing His Chaos Tattoo on his very flat belly and the king of Heart on his back…I didn’t mind!
Cracking night at KoKo which is filled to spilling point with people standing on every levels of the theatre like venue.
