Much like your fruit and veg five-a-day, there is only so much death metal that a normal human being can consume. Okay, it’s not an exact science, some can take less, some can take more.
I personally have an incredibly low threshold for piss-poor death metal, it is (and this is why they call me the Shakespeare of music reviews) my musical brussel sprout, I’ll have the least that I can possibly get away with and having too much is tantamount to torture.
Chaos Inception are the chefs that churn out plate after plate of brussel sprouts, and this is a particularly foul batch of the stuff, it’s just all the same, over and over with nothing to take the edge off of it.
As foul as the end product is, Chaos Inception are quite good at getting there, their machines nicely honed, attacking everything with precision, now if only someone could write them some decent songs then we’d be getting somewhere.
