Falls Of Rauros are an American black metal band, from Portland, ME and despite these guys already releasing albums prior to this one, I personally had never heard of them before. When first hearing the intro track I immediately thought I would be hearing some progressive hardcore vocals kicking in, and was quite shocked to hear the dark harsh black metal vocals instead.

I\’m not sure the music style really goes with black metal, as this is one of my favourite genres of metal and for me the music seems too modern and clean. The lyrics are deep and dark, which is to be expected from Black Metal and this still, is a very beautiful album and holds a good atmosphere throughout with the album also having some impressive artwork and photography included.

I\’m sure this album will appeal to many metal fans out there and not to just the black metal genre, due to the folk elements which this band have, as well as great guitar playing and musical appeal with the progression included in this album, but to me I like my black metal slightly more dirtier and this album just isn’t raw enough for me personally.
