Evergaze Eternity are a female fronted band from Pisa and Teramo and are only a two member band, which is really impressive after hearing their debut album.
Valeria has a really sweet, light voice, which goes well with the heavy guitar riffs behind her, showing she really does have a lovely voice; although for this sort of genre a slightly more aggressive sound or a husky male voice doing backing vocals may have improved this album, but track 4. ‘In A Corner’ does feature guest vocals from Terence Holler, Eldritch, which takes the album on a different direction which does works well and keeps the album interesting, but there is also the cover of Madonna’s ‘Live To Tell song in there too!
Evergaze Eternity are really combining different musical influences in this release, but I can’t agree with them having a gothic/doom metal sound, but more of a dark/electronic rock/metal, with a psychedelic sound which clearly shows their expression of their own individuality. The music is great and has an individual sound with great production which includes some impressive guitars and Technical/ Synths sounds, clearly showing influences from Paradise Lost, Evanescence, and Lacuna Coil. This isn’t a ‘heavy’ album but still is a good one, clearly showing the members are willing to experiment and change direction, making this a really easy listening album with some interesting turns throughout including some beautiful tracks.
So if you’re looking for something light and like bands such as Lacuna Coil and Evanescence then this is possibly…maybe a band for you…it’s just abit too much on the ‘pop’ side for me personally.
