New York-based eperimental death metal outfit PYRRHON signs to Selfmadegod Records

Spread the metal:

Selfmadegod Records is proud to announce the signing of death metal band from New York City – PYRRHON. Debut album entitled “An Excellent Servant But a Terrible Master” will be released worldwide at the end of August 2011.

PYRRHON formed in 2008 after a chance meeting on a subway platform, and have been honing their increasingly twisted take on the genre ever since. PYRRHON’s debut EP, “Fever Kingdoms”, was released in October 2010 and has received consistently laudatory reviews. “Fever Kingdoms”, featured the same creative team as the full-length debut album “An Excellent Servant But a Terrible Master” scheduled for late summer 2011 release. The album is a nightmarish blend of clanging death metal with surreal psychedelic elements, jazz rhythms, and delirious storytelling. “An Excellent Servant But a Terrible Master” was recorded and mixed by Dan Pilla at Bad Lab Studios in Tabernacle, NJ and mastered by Colin Marston (Gorguts, Dysrhythmia, Krallice) at The Thousand Caves Studios in Queens, NY. The cover art and layout were created by Caroline Harrison.

PYRRHON has gigged extensively in the greater New York City area and has shared the stage with Misery Index, Evoken, Liturgy, Cannabis Corpse, Creative Waste, The Binary Code, Gloominous Doom, Criminal Element, and many more.
