Southern California based band IN THIS MOMENT have returned with their third album A STAR-CROSSED WASTELAND.

Spending the early part of 2010 at The Wolve’s Den studio, with acclaimed producer Kevin Churko (Ozzy Osbourne, Five Finger Death Punch)recording Star-Crossed Wasteland, I have to say this is an album to be proud of & has been eagerly anticipated by their fans, who I feel wont be disappointed!

The songs written darker and heavier than their previous releases were still in keeping with their melodic side, with a romantic softer side showing in some individual songs which for me, balanced out perfectly. Opening up with the aggressive track, \”The Gun Show\” this is definitely an album to instantly get your attention! While vocally Maria sounded strong showing more emotional in her vocals yet still showing the pure true aggression and melody to her voice. I found it incredible the range she can manage with her soft emotional, slightly haunting voice then going straight into pure aggression. Chris Howorth and Kyle Konkiel‘s backing vocals complimented Maria well and it would’ve been nice hearing even more of them as both their voices are amazing, but they seemed slightly too faded in the background.

They are a tight band with fantastic riffs and impressive lead guitar work and drumming; this for me is their best album to date.
