Spread the metal:

North America’s progressive metal gods SYMPHONY X have recently entered the studio to begin recording drum tracks for the band’s Nuclear Blast debut and follow-up to 2007’s Paradise Lost, tentatively due before the end of the year.  According to the band’s webmaster, “[guitarist] Michael J. Romeo said that the drums and most of the rhythm guitars are all recorded. At the moment, they are fine-tuning the lyrics and melodies, during which time Russ [Allen] will also be recording his vocals.”

SYMPHONY X guitarist Michael J. Romeo has previously gone on record to say this about the group’s new material: “We have over an hour of really good stuff that we really dig; there’s more than enough stuff there that we can choose the best songs to go on the CD… but all of the songs are really strong. One is shaping up to be 10 minutes plus.  I think everyone will like it.  It has a little bit of everything.”

While SYMPHONY X is busy working on their new album, fans are encouraged to submit questions for the band’s soon-to-be-updated FAQ section of their website.  Send questions in to with “FAQ” in the subject line.

SYMPHONY X are also asking their fans to submit names of bands they’d like to see tour with/open for them.  Send your suggestions to with “Tour Suggestion” in the subject line.

Formed in 1994 in New Jersey, SYMPHONY X has seven studio albums and one live album to their credit.  Their discography has sold 170,000 copies in the U.S. alone.
