Arguably the greatest Southern Rock band ever. Since the early 70’s Lynyrd Skynyrd have provided us with some of the most enjoyable and memorable songs ever created. Their style of music has influenced many a generation and will continue to do so for many a year to come.

This DVD was filmed at the band’s 1996 appearance at Rockplast and showcases all the hits but unfortunately none of the 90’s material. The hits however are performed with perfection but for reasons unknown the audience does not appear to be really into it. This is quite unusual as a Skynyrd show is quite the enjoyable event. Another thing you may notice about this DVD is the lack of film time given to the late bassist Leon Wilkinson. The camera focus’ primarily on VanZant, Rossington and Medlocke while leaving the other members with brief appearances.

The bonus 3 songs from Hamburg 1974 are a welcomed addition as you get to see Ronnie and band perform them as his brother does each night. While watching this you cannot help but realize how much Johnny is like his older brother. Johnny is the only fitting choice to carry on his brother’s legacy.

An interesting DVD mainly showcasing the 90’s version of the band and adding in a few cuts from the original group some 22 years prior. The performance and music are top notch but it is the video capture and edit that leaves something to be desired. A fantastic package nonetheless.
