2008, Capitol/EMI

At the peak of the Ziggy Stardust-era; David Bowie hit the Santa Monica Auditorium. This performance was captured on tape and was never officially released (but highly bootlegged) until now. Was a 30 + year wait worth it?< ?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

Ever the showman, Bowie live is an event to be seen and heard but for some of us the live recordings will have to suffice. An almost flawless performance from Bowie and guitarist Mick Ronson. One can just imagine the magic on stage at that point in time and the spectacle they created. < ?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />Bowie was on top of his game that night and became Ziggy instead of just playing him. The live renditions of “Life On Mars”, “Space Oddity” and  Suffergette City” are some of the best renditions ever.

One of the better live discs from that era of music. An accurate representation of Ziggy in his prime.
