Los Angeles

Rating: 4.5/5
Frontiers Records seems to love the whole idea with project albums so here comes another one. This project is called Los Angeles and consists of lead singer Michele Luppi (Vision Divine) who is supported by Tommy Denander on guitar, Fabrizio Grossi on bass and Greg Giuffria on keyboard amongst others. Luppi hopes more people will listen to his songs and share the beauty of the album.
Luppi has released almost the ultimate melodic hardrock album and even if keyboards are used they don’t over power the edgy and sharp guitar riffs delivered by Denander. This project is apparently Luppi’s personal tribute to the melodic hardrock greats that shaped his singing and songwriting abilities. Luppi and crew are perfect for playing this kind of music, but then again, that’s no surprise as they are the elite within this genre. Grossi is a rock on bass and no one beats Denander on guitar when it comes to playing melodic hardrock/rock.
The only negative thing I can come up with is Luppi’s very feminine voice. He sometimes he sounds just like a woman but even though that’s quite a big thing it doesn’t take away the fact that this is an amazing album.
Almost all of the 11 songs are equally strong as well as the brilliant production done by Grossi. Los Angeles debut album includes all elements that ought to appeal to every fan of either one of the bandmembers or melodic hardrock with strong songs, catchy hooklines, great music and memorable vocal effort by Luppi. This is one of the best project album released by Frontiers Records so far this year.
