The iconic Christmas television special on DVD.

Seeing as it’s the month of Christmas, I thought this would make for a timely review. I know TSO are not a heavy metal band, but since a major component of TSO is the band SAVATAGE, they will always have a place here.

Although this DVD is a major treat, the first thing you need to know about it is that this is NOT a live performance…this is a 46 minute long music video with a “Twas The Night Before Christmas” narrator between each song. I was really, really, really hoping to see these songs performed LIVE with an orchestra and with the singers who performed on the TSO CD’s…but that is not what this is, and for that reason it’s disappointing. You’d think that since TSO have been able to put together TWO touring groups for simultaneous tours of the East and West coast’s of the USA that some of that could have been taped for a DVD release! Perhaps by next Christmas that will be available?!?! However, the visuals on here are awesome and the storyline is a touching one about a runaway who returns home to her family for Christmas. It\’s worth watching. Whether or not you want to buy it I guess depends on how much you love TSO!?!

Since the amount of xmass music I listen to is limited, having this on DVD will mean that every year in December I’ll be playing this DVD for as long as my metal heart still beats.
