Resistant – Ancient Future

Interesting disc here, ANCIENT FUTURE being the debut release of both Resistant and its record label. Quite an interesting mix of musical styles on display here as well, Resistant incorporating punk, thrash, and tribal influences into a wacky mix that sometimes works and sometimes doesn’t. At the very least, it’s a sound that the band can call their own.

“Strike” is the thrashy opener to the disc, highlighted by the gang vocals on the chorus and some good riff work. Strange, at time the vocalist has a gruff shout but at other times has a tendency to sound like Taime Downe from Faster Pussycat.
