If you’ve been a reader of Metal Rules!! for any amount of time or if you’ve delved into our past reviews you would of read our review of Imagika’s first self-titled CD. You would also know the high praise we gave this bay area thrash act. Well this is their second release and to these ears Imagika have outdone themselves! “Worship” picks up where it’s predecessor left off, meaning that no bandwagons have been jumped, no trends have been followed. This is 100% pure metal!!

Sound-wise “Worship” is much better recorded and mixed. The guitar and drum sound is way in your face – they way I like it. Believe it or not Steven Rice’s playing has gotten even more innovative, especially in the riffing department. There are the obvious influences on this CD like Maiden (Powerslave era), Iced Earth, Death Angel, Exodus, etc. but on “Worship” Imagika show themselves as a band who has developed their own sound. If you like the above mentioned bands then the second that this CD starts you will LOVE IT!! If you don’t believe it then listen to the title track from the CD in MP3 format right here.

Although this CD is still on Headless Corpse Records the CD is being distributed in Europe by Nuclear Blast/Radiation. Let’s hope they get a deal for North America as well. Until then us poor bastards in North America can order the CD for only $12.00 from: Headless Corpse Records, P.O. Box 1164, San Carlos, CA. 94070-1164 (Cash or Money Order only).
