Hailing from St. John’s, Newfoundland, sHEAVY have released their first CD entitled Blue Sky Mind. Unless you’re from here you might not of heard of this fine band yet so here’s a bit of background on the band.

Previous Sheavy cassette releases include Best of and Slaves To Fashion. Sheavy are: Steve Hennessey – Vocals, Dan Moore – Guitars, Keith Foley – Bass, Ren Squires – drums.

Blue Sky Mind contains eight new songs with titles like ‘Mountains of Madness,’ ‘Cosmic Overdrive,’ and ‘Supa-Hero.’ As well the CD contains eight bonus tracks! The bonus songs were taken from the Slaves To Fashion demo cassette.

Sheavy seem to be branching out from their Black Sabbath sound on a couple of the newer songs. However, it is VERY clear that without Sabbath their would be no Sheavy. In fact the CD’s liner notes contain a thank you to Black Sabbath, and a nod to “…all the retro cosmic sounds of the born too late bands…”

If you like Sabbath and retro bands like Kyuss, Sleep, and St. Vitus then sHEAVY belongs in your CD collection. To get your own copy of this CD you can visit
