Metal Alliance Tour
March 30th 2012, Edmonton, Canada
Edmonton Events Center
Review and pics by Monika Deviat
On March 30th 2012 the Metal Alliance Tour stopped in Edmonton Alta., at the Edmonton Events Center. With seven touring bands and a local band getting the opening spot after winning a contest put on by Concert Works in Edmonton, you knew the sets were going to go by fast. The venue filled up right after doors open and there were line ups for the merch booth that lasted most of the evening. We were also informed we only had the first three minutes to get some photos so we did our best at being ninja photographers. Unfortunately, a lot of the bands had some pretty dim stage lighting. The sound, as well as the pit, were broken up by pillars spaced throughout the middle of the venue. |

Suffocation
Dingbatz
Clifton, NJ
April 15, 2012
Review and pics by Infamousbutcher
Suffocation continues to tour the world, destroying everything in its wake! In the last few months Long Island’s heaviest death metallers have played in Russia and Holland, as well as the Eastern United States. Shows in Indonesia, Singapore, and France are on the schedule. Tonight’s show at Dingbatz in Clifton, New Jersey is close to home for Suffo, so the crowd was wild! For those who have never been to a Suffocation show, here’s what to expect: the best guttural death metal vocals ever, blast beats, sudden starts and breakdowns, tight musicianship, and brutality like you’ve never heard in your *&^%ing life! |

Master’s Hammer conquered the underground in the 80’s and early 90’s with their awesome and unique black/death metal approach. The band’s demos got spread out through tape traders around the world. After the SLAGRY album, the outfit vanished until a return a few years ago with the MANTRA album. The unique and original sounds of Master’s Hammer have indeed appealed and influenced several extreme metal fans. The newest effort titled VRACEJTE KONVE NA MÍSTO proves Master’s Hammer is able to create the catchy occult based songs. The founding member and mastermind of Master’s Hammer Franta Storm sheds more light on the new album and tells about the past.

Kuudes Linja
The 10th of May 2012
Helsinki Finland
Jex Thoth has become a regular visitor to Finland. Jessica Thoth could be witnessed at the stage twice last summer at two festivals. Besides Jex Thoth has effectively toured Finland during the past few years and gained a good following amongst the metal fans. The band’s, and above all, Jessica’s magical performance is definitely spell-bounding and hypnotic. Jex Thoth were once again on a four gig tour, crisscrossing Finland once again. The small club in the heart of Helsinki was quite packed, when approximately 200 people had crawled to the club on Thursday night.

Paradise Lost @ The Scala, London
Sunday 29th April 2012
It’s a sunny April afternoon in Kings Cross, London but that doesn’t stop the hoards of Gothic Metal fans descending upon The Scala to witness the masters of the genre they created, Paradise Lost. I arrived at the venue fairly early at 6pm although the doors were not due to open until 7:30 but already there were people beginning to queue at the entrance as well as a few audience members who I could see had taken advantage of the VIP ticket option whereby you get a meet and greet with the band earlier in the day and exclusive merchandise, etc.
