Job(s) @ Metal Rules: CD reviewer, interviewer, concert reviewer, photographer
Length of Time with MR: Since July 2003
Brief description of how you came to MR: I first heard about MR on Blabbermouth.net who posted parts of the infamous interview Marko did with Motorhead drummer Mikkey Dee back in December 2002. I clicked on the link back to MR, read the interview and checked out the rest of the site. I saw it was run by a fellow Canadian so I bookmarked it and soon became a regular visitor. One day, I was bored at work and after reading the June 2003 CD reviews, I thought I’d e-mail EvilG to see if he wanted to hire another writer. The rest is history!!
Best thing about working for MR: Discovering new bands, getting free concert passes and CDs, and getting to interview some of my favorite bands are all pretty sweet perks, but most of all, writing about a genre of music that I love is the real treat.
Worst thing about working for MR: Seeing the end of the month right around the corner and realizing I still have a stack of CDs to review! Typing up my long-winded interviews and formatting photos are a close second.
First Metal concert: KISS/Anthrax in Calgary, Alberta (March 1988).
