The Gates of Metal Festival (GoM) is a pretty young heavy metal festival in Sweden, it kicked off in 2003 and this year it was my first visit to the festival. Here comes my coverage of this event. It’s located in the small town of Hultsfred, the town that also hosts the annual Hultsfreds Festival, and it had three stages called Iron/Led and Steel Stage where Steel is the smallest one. The Iron Stage is the biggest one with a capacity for 4000 people. The headline acts during the festival was big names like Hammerfall, Ministry, Helloween, Destruction and Mayhem. Also featured bands was Dismemeber, Naglfar, Amorphis, Deathstars, Narnia and Steel Attack amongst many others. Savage Circus cancelled their appearance and was replaced by the Swedish Sabaton.
