Aerosmith
Rockin’ The Joint

2005, Columbia Records
Rating: 4/5

One if the greatest Rock n’ Roll bands ever release another “Live” album. Recorded at the Hard Rock Hotel back in 2002 this release showcases some classic Aerotunes alongside some new ones and a couple of rarely performed ones.

While it is great to hear newer Aerosmith songs such as “Beyond Beautiful” and “I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing”  done live alongside such staples as “Walk This Way” and “Train Kept  A Rollin’ ”. The question arises…Is another Live/G.Hits really necessary? Being a fan I will buy just about everything by them BUT where do you draw the line? They are starting to get as pathetic as Kiss when it comes to Live and repackaged “Best Of” albums.

The album does sound great and musically the performance is first rate. As I have stated my only beef is that this is an unnecessary release. Had it have been a full concert of their current tour then it would have been a bit more legit but to release a recording that is almost 4 years old is just a bad idea.
