Belgian black metal warlords Enthroned have returned to the U.S. for the first time in nine years, headlining a tour in support of their new album Pentagrammatton alongside Aussie metal titans Destroyer 666. On a sunny summer afternoon I telephoned Enthroned's tour manager to confirm our scheduled interview. To my surprise, it would seem that I may have a cancellation on my hands. "Nornagest is puking up blood." said the voice on the other end of the phone. "Check back in three hours."

There are few things as inherently black metal as puking up blood in my book. Toughing it out through thick and thin, Nornagest eventually mustered up enough strength to follow through with the interview despite feeling green, with bassist Phorgath delegated to assist answering some of the questions.
