The Beach Boys
Summer Love Songs

2009, Capitol Records
Rating: 3.5/5

Another collection from The Beach Boys entitled SUMMER LOVE SONGS has just recently hit record store shelves in time for the summer season. Before you jump to a decision on this collection; be it to rush out and grab it to complete your collection or to say” Not another one”, take a moment to inquire about it and see what this disc has in store for your ears.

First off the typical songs such as “California Girls” and “Help Me Rhonda” are present but there are also a few unreleased mixes for the die-hard completist. The only ‘real’ new track is the Dennis Wilson composition; “Fallin’ In Love” which was recorded back in 1970 and remained unreleased in North America until now. This is the highlight of the album by far as most of us casual fans hadn’t heard it before. The new Stereo mixes are a nice addition but far from essential.

A fairly decent collection overall with a track list that will suit your next summer afternoon BBQ.
