The Brains

Hell n’ Back: No Brain, No Pain

2007, Stumble Records

Rating: 5/5

This Montreal trio have been digging up new and old fans steadily since they got together in 2003. Joining the company of other Psychobilly artists such as The Creepshow and The Matadors, The Brains deliver high energy music to the masses.

The 25 (yes 25) songs on their debut album for Stumble Records are all catchy, rockin’ but short compositions. A few have been available before on their debut disc but they are all here in one place. Songs like the title track, “Scream For Me” and “Zombie Walk” capture the live essence that the band have on stage. There isn’t an ballads or fillers here just pure blood dripping psycho rock and roll that you are sure to dig. From zombies to corpses to beers this is a great record. Crank it up and wake the dead.
