Kelly Shaefer of ATHEIST
Interviewed in Feb. 2000 by EvilG
Thanks to Nathan Robinson for helping out with the questions!

Atheist are one of the more influential yet under-rated technical death metal bands of the early 90's. Unfortunately, the band dissolved in 1994 and now ten years after the band's first release people are just starting to get it now. In the coming months Atheist's three CD's - Piece of Time (1989), Unquestionable Presence (1991) and Elements (1993) will be re-released. The vocalist for Atheist, Kelly Shaefer, recently spoke with with us at length concerning Atheist and to a lesser degree about his new band Neurotica which was formed in 1994 as a (then) side-project.

Ron Jarzombek of Spastic Ink / WatchTower
Interviewed in February 2000 by Noel

Spastic Ink is a solo project of former Watchtower guitarist Ron Jarzombek. Watchtower dissolved due to physical aliments and certain members other commitments. Ink Complete specializes in super-complex instrumental fusion metal. Jarzombek's distinctive style is in top form here. There are few other bands that possess such technical and musical prowess. Completely brilliant in it's complexity and unique original thought. Currently the line-up seems to be Sean Malone (ex-Cynic), Steve DiGiorgio (Sadus/Testament), and and none other than former Watchtower vocalist Jason McMaster (Dangerous Toys), and drummer Richard Christy (Death/Control Denied) but that is yet too be determined. So be prepared too dive into a glimpse within the Watchtower Past and Spastic Ink Future.

Interview With Kamelot's Thomas Youngblood - January 29th, 2000

Interviewed Jan.29, 2000 by EvilG

GODLY!! That was my reaction upon hearing Kamelot's latest offering "The Fourth Legacy." This CD has everything - the fast aggressive double kickers, excellent lead guitars, great vocals, the melodic, the gentle, the thoughtful. Upon first listen it's understandable to assume this is a European band. However, the band are based out of TAMPA, Florida, USA! They are getting excellent push from their label, Noise Records, for this, their second CD to be released in North America. So some of us have some catching up to do. Fans of power / melodic bands should do themselves a favor and check this band out today!

I was given the honor to talk with Kamelot's guitarist  - Thom Youngblood.
