Whitesnake 16.11 2004 Tampere Ice Hall, FINLAND Review and pictures by Marko Syrjälä
The “Live … In the Still of the Night” tour landed Finland for the first time in September 2004 when band played in the front of a sold out crowd in Helsinki. A couple of weeks later they returned to play one show in the far North of Finland in Oulu and now they are here again playing a show in Tampere and still there is one more gig left in Turku tomorrow. So in total there are four Ice Hall gigs within three months in Finland by Whitesnake. So the question is, is this band popular or not? |

The Finnish act Omnium Gatherum have recently released their second album YEARS IN WASTE on Nuclear Blast. I took the opportunity to ask guitarist Markus Vanhala a few questions about the album and about the band. |

Machine Head God Forbid, Caliban
November 6th 2004 Tavastia Club Helsinki Finland Review and Pics by Arto Lehtinen
It was definitely surprising to notice two gigs in a row had been booked for Machine Head in the same club. On the other hand, it isn't an unexpected surprise to see the SOLD OUT labels nailed on the main entrance door on both nights. Machine Head has always enjoyed a loyal and even fanatical fan base up here in the northern territories. Previously packed gigs especially for the fifth album THROUGH THE ASHES OF EMPIRES was welcomed amongst the Finnish fans by picking up so many items from stores that the album got catapulted to the nation’s chart for weeks. Machine Head have got a whole bunch of new younger fans in recent years who were at least now able to witness their idols in action. |

Interview with Michael Schenker Interview and questions by Marko Syrjälä Pictures by Marko Syrjälä and MSG archives Transcription by Nick
Michael Schenker is definitely a legend. He’s one of the most respected guitar players of our time and he’s been a huge influence for many. In the 70’s, after a short period in the early version of Scorpions, the young German joined as a part of another legendary band U.F.O and together with that classic line-up they released a bunch of “evergreen” albums like “Light’s Out”, “Force It” and “Obsession” just to name a few. By 1980 he started his own band, MSG (Michael Schenker Group) which became another success story in Michael’s career. Since that, there has been many albums released by MSG, U.F.O re-union in the mid 90’s and a great number of different albums and projects that Michael has been a part of. I had a chance to meet him in his tour bus in Stockholm after their brilliant show in Klubben. Well here’s what was caught on the tape …
