Interview with Charley Shackelford

Raleigh, North Carolina's Hellrazor formed in 2005 is a thrashing "Break Neck Heavy Metal" band who feature within their ranks one Charley Shackelford who also plays guitar for Candlelight Records recording artists Daylight Dies. Charley is complemented by the very talented vocalist Alan Rueda, bassist Dave Sanchez and drummer Chuck Giardino. Since signing with Heaven and Hell Records and releasing the debut album "In The Wild" the band has mounted an impressive DIY campaign having their music featured on one of the last Metal Maniacs magazine sampler cd's, performing at the Warriors of Metal festival in Ohio alongside Twisted Tower Dire and Aska and producing a music video for the song "The Pawn." |

One of the genre's great originators, Floridian Death Metal band Obituary still just keep it simple with groovy rhythms and catchy riffs. Their latest album DARKEST DAY does what it's predecessors did, make you bang you head in metal fury. Very humble and down to earth, they don't wear the legend label well, but with a simplistic approach to song writing, reverence of other legends, and a strong work ethic, they continue to bring their unique brand of metal to a wanting fan base. Votum is polish progressive metal act that, at least, I hadn’t heard until I got their amazing debut album TIME MUST HAVE A STOP was sent to me. I hooked up with keyboard player Zbigniew Szatkowski to hear what he had to say about the band and the new album and what he thought is the essence of Votum’s music.

Time again to talk to the Swedish legend and one of the most important figures in the extreme metal genre Lord K. This time it is an up close and personal interview about a new band that Lord K has together with other well known metal figures from Sweden. Jörgen Sandström and Tobben Gustafsson are the names of the other members and they are known from acts like Entombed and Vomitory. Today this trio is working together in Torture Divison which is the most evil and deadly death metal act at the moment. When I and Lord K met up we talked about the band, live shows, the past and the future and why this band does things a bit different than other bands.
