Imperia is the name of a great goth metal act that recently released their brilliant third album entitled SECRET PASSION. I was given the opportunity to hook up with the bands singer Helena Iren Michaelsen (ex- Trail Of Tears) and we sat down to talk about the new album, the label and her thoughts on performing live as well as some more personal questions about Helena herself. If you're into goth metal, make sure to listen to SECRET PASSION really soon.

Interview with Warchild of Eliminator

Conducted by Robert Williams

Eliminator has already garnered a modest amount of attention for themselves within underground metal circles, due in no small part to the band's strong work ethic and drive showcased on their debut offering "Breaking The Wheel" an album falling somwhere between technical breakneck thrash and classic speed metal. Eliminator re-emerged earlier this year touting two full length albums of all new material coming in the form of "The One They Were Waiting For" and the aptly named "And The Brokenhearted Balladeers". On the band's latest material, the Jersey based duo of guitarist and vocalist Warchild and drummer Samus embark on a much different journey than that of their debut, incorporating a wide range of far reaching musical influences outside of the metal spectrum, culminating in the band's most experimental and bold vision to date. Warchild recently took the time to chat with Metal-Rules.com and give us the lowdown on Eliminator's new material...

On their the last days in Europe, Misery Index came to Finland to play in the festival Tuska Open Air. The band, well known for its furious grind and death metal style, was promoting their latest record, ”Heirs to Thievery”, and a day before the Tuska gig I talked with basist/vocalist Jason Netherton about the band's current situation, their future plans and also about his time in Dying Fetus, plus about Misery Index's hometown of Baltimore, Maryland.

JOHN De SERVIO

INTERVIEW AND PHOTOS BY MARKO SYRJÄLÄ

John DeServio is best known from his long career with Black Label Society. DeServio was the original bass player for Black Label starting from 1998 but he decided to quit with the band in 2000. The man returned into their ranks just five years later following the departure of James Lomenzo and has been a part of “the family” since then. DeServio also has his own band called Cycle of Pain whose debut album was released in 2009 and he’s also been working with such names as Vinnie Moore, Ritchie Kotzen and Derek Sherinian. We had the honor to sit down with the man himself prior to Black Label’s triumphant performance at Sweden Rock - here are the results of that interesting discussion... Read on!

Friday night in Camden around the Underworld seemed unusually quiet seeing as Pagan's Mind are playing tonight, even heading downstairs to the venue it’s the same story…but things were soon about to change!
