Satyr of Satyricon
Interview conducted by Robert Williams
Videography courtesy of Sandra Torres
Satyricon is presently in the midst of their second US tour of 2009; having previously been through the States this past January as a support act for Cradle of Filth and now headlining dates this fall in support of last years "The Age of Nero" album. Speaking with frontman Satyr about the current tour; it becomes evident that tensions abound due to poor promotion for the current trek. Nevertheless, the band delivers steadfast an intense career spanning set this night in San Antonio that featured two encore performances. As the show lets out; the skies in San Antonio have let loose a torrential down pour of rain and in the midst of all this; eager sharpie-wielding fans were delighted to find Satyricon drummer Frost ushered to a nearby table set up under the shelter of a tin roof, for him to meet and greet fans of the band. All of this immediately following his near two hour Olympian, drumkit-pummeling live assault. I caught up with Satyricon mainman Satyr and had the chance to talk to the man himself about "The Age of Nero" album, the bands headlining performance at Norway's "Inferno Fest" black metal gathering, touring with Pantera and the offstage debauchery that surely followed, and of course...the idendity of the naked blonde chick from the "Mother North" video.

Lars Chriss of Lion's Share
Interviewed by Alan Gilkeson
Since the release of DARK HOURS earlier this year, there's been a slow and steady build up for Lion's Share around the world. Recently inking a distribution deal in Russia and their video for 'Judas Must Die' appearing on 'The Headbangers Ball', the Swedish trio seem poised to bring their metal to the masses as word of their unique brand of US influenced Power Metal spreads across the world. Recently, founder and guitarist Lars Chriss answered some questions for Metal Rules.

Primal Fear
Sept. 13 2009, Foufounes Électriques, Montreal, Canada
Review by EvilG
Photos by Steve Sanders
(Note: I didn't have a photo pass for this show, and I didn't realize that the venue would just let us chumps take a camera inside to take pics...otherwise I would of taken my own. However, thanks to Steve who attended and graciously gave us permission to use these photos)
When Primal Fear announced that their only Canadian stop on this leg of their 2009 tour was Montreal, it was a no-brainer on whether we'd attend or not. Primal Fear have been one of my favorite bands for a long time so the anticipation and expectations to see them live was running extremely high. I had seen Primal Fear just one time before way back in 2001 on their NUCLEAR FIRE tour stop in NJ, USA which was (I think) their first time in North America.
