Imagika: June 25, 2003Day 6 Well, today started out very much like day 5 with Steve continuing his guitar tracking. He finished the rhythm tracks and will start on the acoustic guitars and solos on day 7. The highlight of day 6 was going to Mexico! Tony, Dave and I left around 3pm to check out some clubs and to buy tequila. Tony knows a lot of history about the town of Juarez Mexico. He clued us in on the dark world of the drug lords that built the popular clubs in town that launder their blood money, as well as rampant government and police corruption. Needless to say Dave and I were very respectful and didn't start any trouble. We went to two clubs that were built by drug lords. These places were top of the line clubs with great atmosphere and great sound systems. I'm talking million dollar sound systems. These were truly beautiful places with beautiful clientele! ; ) Unfortunately, we were asked to not take any pictures while inside these clubs. Bummer… So after we had our fill at these clubs we went to the local markets to have a look around and purchase some trinkets. By then it was time for us to leave Juarez, Mexico and start out on a new mission to find Cuban cigars. This lead us to downtown El Paso at a ritzy restaurant were supposedly some underworld figures hang out. Hmmm…. Notice a theme yet? Anyway, we had no luck finding cigars there and we were running late so we called it a day and headed back to the studio. Upon arriving back at the studio we realized we were 17 hours late for the start of Dave's vocal tracking which Neil was not at all pleased about. So, to make amends I told Neil I would get him a lap dance. He took the offer, and though my skills are a bit rusty he seemed to enjoy it and all was forgiven. Amen!
