Barzakh
In A Meaning The Note
November 2012
Released: 2012, Independent Rating: 2.0/5 Reviewer: Metal-Rules.com UK Team Barzakh are an Indonesia Black Metal band, who has just released their third album ‘In A Meaning The Note’. When they formed they consisted of Kiky (Vocals/Guitar), Yusuf (Guitar), Gatrik (Bass), Rony R.I.P (Drums), before they recruited their new bass player. The band admit to not knowing much about black metal music when they started, but after university they wanted to form a band to honour this genre. They also have death metal influences in their sound and use dark black metal vocals with the deep growls and screams of blackened death. I have to say this isn’t one album that instantly grabbed my attention. It is of poor sound and production with an armature sound to them with tracks lacking in diversity and did become quite boring in places. It is no doubtthese guys play well and have great potential, but for me personally I did lose interest. I’m sure this album is one that die-hard Black Metal fans may want to check out, as there are some great sounds and riffs in there and they guys do play well, but personally I’m sorry guys, this wasn’t an album for me.
