Negative Void Trinity
May 2014
Released: 2014, Forever Plagued
Rating: 3.0/5
Reviewer: UK Team

Septuagint are a Greek black metal duo who play in a very fast paced style. They claim to know when to pace themselves, but I’m not sure if that’s a bit of a lie or not. Their first EP, Negative Void Trinity comes in at 5 tracks long.

Instantly this album starts off with a dark crushingly intense intro, as if they really had something to prove on this first EP. Think blast beats with a slightly off tune melody. It is intense but seems to lack form due to its intensity. And that’s generally how it stays for the duration of the EP apart from the odd funeral drone like influence here and there.

If you are really into your Greek black metal, then yes this is an album you might well appreciate while sat on your own. But otherwise you might find yourself getting bored.
