Decembre Noir
A Discouraged Believer
May 2014
Released: 2014, FDA REKOTZ
Rating: 4.0/5
Reviewer: UK Team

DECEMBRE NOIR's long awaited release A Discouraged Believer was produced, mixed and mastered by Alex Dietz of Heaven Shall Burn and Eike Freese Project Mayhem, and has potential to make it mark clearly felt on the death and doom metal scenes.

This album is heavy and drawn out with dark melodic stodgy riffs, lengthy melodies and crashing drums.

This album has a definite sound that drags on poking in the direction of that cold dark emotion that decent black metal albums evoke.

At times it has an almost serine beauty to it. It is the sort of album that fans of Agalloch or early Opeth albums would appreciate. Over all it’s an excellent release that grows on you the more you play it.

The first pressed vinyl edition will be limited to 300 orange colored records.
