Aborted. This is a classic death/grind metal band (--that was a statement--). THE NECROTIC MANIFESTO is the new Belgian dynamite that is gonna explode the metal world. This is the eighth time Aborted committing this ‘crime’. Proverbial showers not growers, the death vets continue winning/killing streak of their new burning death metal wheel.
This new necrotic, sick, and unholy offering is the wicked follow up to GLOBAL FLATLINE (2012). Over against to Morbid Angel’s ILLUM DIVINUM INSANUS, THE NECROTIC MANIFESTO is definitely the album that serious death metal devotees are exactly willing to give the genre’s iconic artistic much room to explore outside their repertoire. That MANIFESTO benefits from the ‘waxen’ and clear BUT not modern production skills of Jacob Hansen for one more time, who has helped infuse the new tracks with malevolent energy and sonic purity. This album continues the same themes, styles and technical wizardry as if only short time had passed between the two album. Their energy level, AS USUAL, is set to eleven, as you can hear immediately in the maniacal opening track “The Extirpation Agenda” - which is broken up into quick, complicated and dirty but catchy enough riff blocks, with the briefest of lead guitar flourishes from Danny Tunker and Mendel Bij De Leij, seriously aggressive bass from JB Van der Wal and Sven "Svencho" de Caluwé’s trademark demon roar.
There are latent and interspersed black metal elements in all the tracks of MANIFESTO, making it a true example of extreme embellishment. THE NECROTIC MANIFESTO melds atmospheric and pentatonic melodies into a maelstrom of bleak, scalpel-sharp, maximum BPM aggression and multiple stab wounds of hate-driven malcontent. There are also, extremely catchy, heavy and slow tracks like “Die Verzweiflung” making this album brilliant.
For the next 42 minutes, your existence will be plummeted into an abysmal void marred by raw, blackened ferocity and depressive auras... Dead in the Manger deliver a mixture of black metal and death-grind with a tendency for noise and ambient atmospheres as well. THE NECROTIC MANIFESTO is a nice mash-up of genres that serves as a brief but engrossing offering.
