Dirty Rocker Boys (Book Review)
Released: 2013, Gallery Books
Reviewer: Celtic Bob
The “Cherry Pie” girl finally releases her book after a few years in the works. Bobbie Brown is known primarily as the gorgeous blonde in Warrant’s “Cherry Pie” video and who later wed singer Jani Lane. Her life was anything but easy but if nothing else it was interesting. This book reveals info that we never knew and sheds a different light on Brown.
The book is an easy read which is good for us that read at a slower pace. While reading it I found myself getting more and more interested in the story. Being a fan of Warrant’s music since the early days her story from that era was of great interest. In DIRTY ROCKER BOYS she shares stories of Sex, Drugs and Rock n Roll as you’d expect but it wasn’t all from the musicians. Bobbie too was just as involved in it all just as much and in some cases more. I was surprised to learn how involved she was in the drug scene. Never would I have thought that she was that messed up. Brown never came across as the type to have succumbed to the demons of drugs.
DIRTY ROCKER BOYS is a story of a rise to the top, the fall and the struggle to survive and get back up. Bobbie has seen it all and done it all and thankfully is still here to tell her story. DIRTY ROCKER BOYS is an eye opening book on an era of decadence.
