Azrael (Spain)
Dimension IV
August 2001
Released: 2001, Locomotive Music
Rating: 3.5/5
Reviewer: El Cid

Picked this one up on the grounds that a friend of mine said it was a great CD and my mistake before chipping out to buy it was to forget that my friend is a HUGE power metal freak.

This is a Spanish band (me thinks, if I’m wrong then let me know which country they hail from), hence the Spanish vocals bring something of an original touch to the music (kinda like with Vintersorg and Enslaved) and their musical skills are good. The good about this band is that you won’t get a Helloween/Gamma Ray clone like so many out there, you’ll get some decent power metal with some entertaining elements. You’ll get a mix of epic songs, instrumentals, speeding guitars, double bass all over and some nice lyrics that do not mention Hob…err dragons and mystic quests for almighty swords.

So here it is, if you’re a power metal freak, you’re more than likely to think highly of this offering from Spain.
