Hardcore Superstar? What’s that? The latest porn flick compilation? Some brothers from Brooklyn that sing about childhood traumas in their neighborhood? Far from it - Hardcore Superstar have been eating dust and dirt ever since 1998, when they released their debut IT’S ONLY ROCK’N’ROLL. Hailing from Gothenburg, Sweden, the band helped paving the way for Swedish Street Metal and the renaissance of the New Wave of Swedish Sleaze.



SPLIT YOUR LIP is the band’s 8th full-length and, according to the boys, they were so fueled with ideas after the last tour that they easily had enough material for another album only one year after the release of BEG FOR IT. And let me tell you that they really put out some good tunes and by no way second-rate left over material.



“Last call for alcohol”, “Split Your Lip” or “Bully” - Hardcore Superstar always kick some ass and you are going to ask for more. For those of you out there who are looking for some more mellow tunes at Christmas, the Skandinavians have a first-class Power Ballad at hand: “Run To Your Mama” is a great slowmo song with piano and Jocke’s rough voice.



Trust me, if you like Cinderella mixed with some street dirt, if you like Great White but miss the sleazy attitude in their songs, then songs like “Sadistic Girls” will wow you! Let there be sleaze!
