Michael Riesenbeck
Shouting Silence
April 2004
Released: 2004, Perris Records Rating: 3.2/5 Reviewer: Celtic Bob Michael Riesenbeck is a Dutch musician that handles most of the Guitar, Bass, Drums and Keyboards on this cd. He also gets help with Vocals, Bass and Keys on this debut as well from the likes of Jeff Pilson and Tony O’Hora (just to name a couple). This debut cd is more along the lines of Whitesnake and some of the heavier songs from the likes of Journey. It is great melodic rock with a bit of an edge. The songs are well written and quite catchy while some border on being prog rock. I personally cannot get over the “Over The Top” musicianship on this disc. There is allot of extraordinary playing on here especially on tracks like “Casualities of War” which is basically 100% Prog. If you are into this genre of music then you will not find a better release this year.
