DAMNATION is the second album by the young United Kingdom-based thrashers, Warparth. It's an old-fashioned shredder throughout its entire thirty-nine and a half minutes, and given that the average age of the band members is only about 23, the musicianship is impressive. Each of the band's four members does their part to nail the classic thrash sound that Slayer, Testament, and others like them had introduced to the world decades ago.

DAMNATION is about as metal as it comes, with all of the killer leads, rhythm, bass, and drums of a traditional thrasher. My only gripe is the monotone yelling of vocalist Richard Goss, but that tends to be par for this style of thrash and could easily just be my preference and not a lack of talent on his part. On the other hand, Goss really delivers on the rhythm guitar, which fits in perfectly with the rest of the album's sound.

Warpath are a talented new act whose fierce delivery on DAMNATION will certainly prove them to be a contender in the coming years. Even though they don't do much to break the thrash mold, they fit it so well that any fan of the classics will be impressed by what they bring to the table. Don't miss this album.
